Motia has been named winner of the Innovation in Cost Reduction Award at the Fleet World Great British Fleet Awards, recognising the company’s role in helping fleet operators achieve measurable and sustainable cost reduction.
The award followed a busy and successful day for the team, with Motia also exhibiting at the Great British Fleet Event, where fleet operators, partners and industry leaders came together to discuss innovation, safety and the future of fleet management.
The Great British Fleet Awards celebrate excellence across the UK fleet sector, and with a highly competitive shortlist this year, the win highlights Motia’s differentiated approach to cost reduction.
Motia’s award‑winning entry demonstrated how fleet costs can be controlled by embedding insight into everyday operations. By integrating fuel, telematics, cameras and compliance into a single connected platform, fleet operators gain real‑time visibility and the ability to intervene early, before small inefficiencies turn into major costs.
Central to the entry was Motia’s data‑led underwriting model. Live driver behaviour data is connected directly into insurer risk models, allowing fleets to benchmark performance against underwriting KPIs and address risk proactively. This shift from reactive claims management to prevention delivers fewer incidents, lower insurance premiums, reduced fuel waste and lower administrative overheads, supported by demonstrable outcomes rather than projected savings.
The judges recognised Motia’s ability to evidence real‑world impact. By linking driver behaviour, fuel consumption and operational intelligence, fleet operators can drive behavioural improvement, reduce claims frequency and achieve long‑term cost stability.
As cost reduction is built into daily operations, savings become structural rather than one‑off. This integrated approach enables improved financial predictability at a time when fleet operators face sustained pressure from insurance, fuel and compliance costs.
The award was collected by Conor Patton, Fleet Sales Director, and Craig Marsden, Product Director, representing the wider Motia team.
The Motia table on the night included: Conor Patton, Paul Williams, Craig Marsden, Gareth Dyson, Elizabeth Vuagniaux, Lisa Egerton‑Jones, Ken Stevenson and Jackie Ellerbeck, along with Stewart Osmond from WTW and Charlotte le Maire from valued partner LMP Legal.
Commenting on the win, Conor Patton said:
“We’re incredibly proud to win the Innovation in Cost Reduction Award. It’s a real testament to the work taking place across Motia and our partner network, and to the trust our customers place in us. This recognition shows what can be achieved when fleet operators are given the tools to actively control cost and risk through meaningful data insight.”
In addition to the win, Motia was also shortlisted in the Innovation in Risk Management category, reinforcing the strong link between safety, risk reduction and cost control. By reducing incidents and improving driver behaviour, fleet operators can create safer fleets while delivering tangible financial benefits.
Motia’s success at the Great British Fleet Awards reflects its ongoing mission to help fleet operators move from reacting to rising costs to proactively controlling them. With connected data, behavioural insight and insurer integration at the core of the platform, Motia continues to support fleets in achieving safer, more efficient and more predictable operations.
