About Reece

Reece Hampton is Enterprise Manager for the Advanced Solutions division of Motia Telematics, working closely with fleet operators to understand their challenges and deliver solutions that help them operate more efficiently. With more than 15 years of experience across the fuel and fleet industries, Reece is passionate about building strong customer relationships and delivering positive outcomes through technology and data.

Let’s start with your role, what do you do at Motia?

I am the Enterprise Manager for the Advanced Solution division of Motia Telematics.

Within my role, I work in partnership with fleet operators to understand the operational challenges they face and use a variety of solutions within our integrated platform to solve their needs.

At the heart of everything I do are my customers.

How long have you been with the business?

I've been with the business since January 2025 and within the DCC plc family since 2009.

Tell us about your career journey

I started my career as an actor, with my most notable role being in Shameless.

From there, I spent around a year at A-Plant, now known as Sunbelt Rentals. The main part of my career was spent with Certas Energy, part of DCC plc, where I worked for 15 years between 2009 and 2025 before moving into my current role at Motia.

What has been your proudest moment?

My proudest moment has to be watching my family grow.

My life is very much centred around my family, and I take great pride in watching my daughter Mia and son Jax grow, develop and, most importantly, be happy.

How has Motia supported your development?

Motia has really supported my development by giving me the confidence and space to grow within my role.

I feel trusted to do my best every day, and I know the business is there for me every step of the way. The culture here at Motia is superb, and you genuinely feel part of something.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy speaking with new companies every day, building strong relationships, and using both our platform and my experience within the fuel and fleet industries to deliver meaningful benefits to customers.

Receiving positive feedback from customers makes my job incredibly fulfilling.

What is the most challenging part of your job?

Time is always the biggest challenge.

You always want to spend more time supporting customers, speaking with new prospects, and exploring how our products can help them, but there are only so many hours in the day.

What is the best thing about working at Motia?

The best thing about working for Motia is that everything the business does starts with the question, "Will this benefit our existing customers and our customers of tomorrow?"

It's refreshing to work for a business that genuinely puts its customers at the centre of everything it does.

How would you describe the culture?

I would describe the culture as a family.

From the first day I walked into the business, I felt part of a caring environment. Throughout my time at Motia, I have always felt welcomed, valued and treated as an equal.

If you could switch roles with anyone for a day, who would it be?

Rather than switching roles for a day, my focus is on continuing to develop within my current role and making an even bigger difference for my customers.

In the future, I would like to progress within the business, potentially into a Sales Director or Commercial Director role. I feel I have a lot to offer Motia, and equally, the business has a lot to offer me.

Tell us a bit about life outside of work

Life outside of work is very family-focused.

Most of my spare time is spent with my wife Kayleigh and our two children. I also play Crown Green Bowls during the summer months and regularly enjoy a game of chess.

I'm a big sports fan, particularly cricket and football.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Like most young families, spare time can be limited.

When I do get some free time, I enjoy going for walks and spending time outdoors. I love nature and animals, and being outside helps me switch off and recharge.

Any hidden talents?

I've built a strong self-taught knowledge of Excel and computer systems over the years.

I'm also pretty good at maths.
